I
am a father, husband, and citizen committed to serving
the public. As an attorney, I have held criminals
accountable for their actions, and protected business
owners when the government failed to keep its word.
I am now running for State Representative because
I want the priorities in St. Paul
to match our priorities here in Lakeville.
If elected, I will represent the citizens of my district.
My opponent has indicated that sometimes you have
to carry the water of the party and implied that she
voted against a bi-partisan comprehensive transportation
bill because she knew “the governor was going
to veto it.” (1)
Her acts are plain wrong. You either represent the
best interests of the people or you don’t. A
political party may aid government, but ownership
of the government rightly belongs with the people.
I will not put partisan games above what I
think is best for the citizens of my district.
As your State Representative, I will work with members
of all political parties in order to address our common
problems. I will judge possible legislation by the
likely results, and not the author of the bill, because
good ideas come from all sides. You will not hear
me explain away government inaction due to difficult
financial times. It is the responsibility of our officials
to plan ahead, for good times and bad, and make sure
the public is getting the government they deserve.
When I moved to Lakeville, my neighbors didn’t
ask me what political party I belonged to, or what
church I prayed at. They welcomed me simply because
I was their new neighbor. This is why I am a candidate
for State Representative; my neighbors deserve the
best representation possible. With your support on
November 7, we can make this happen.
Sincerely,
